Portrane's Caves
You want to explore some amazing caves that aren't in any travel guides? Then this is the right adventure for you. You will enjoy stunning views along the path of the Cliff Walk but the highlight of the hike will actually be underneath the path. Take a detour from the path down the cliffs to sheltered coves and little caves with fantastic formations and vibrant colours. ​

We will start at the Northern end of the Cliff Walk, visit the caves, then continue southbound to my favorite beach. There will be plenty of time to relax, to explore and for having some snacks in between.

Price: 35 EUR per person
Minimum age: 12 years
Meeting Point: Tower Bay Car Park - Portrane (easily reachable by car or public transport from Dublin city centre)
Duration: 3 to 4 hours
Distance: 4 kms
Terrain: Moderately difficult - the path on the Cliff Walk itself is fairly level but the rocky sections of the cliffs are a bit steeper.
Requirements:Â

Underage persons must be accompanied by their parents/guardians.

You need to be physically fit, sure-footed and not afraid of heights.

Wear sturdy waterproof outdoor shoes/trekking boots with a good grip but NO flip flops, shoes with heels, etc - You might get turned down without a refund if you don't wear proper footwear.

Wear appropriate outdoor clothes -Â The walls and roof in the caves are wet. Also, prepare yourself for wind, drizzles and/or for some rain showers so bring a hat/scarf/gloves. An umbrella will most likely be blown away.

Bring snacks and drinks - whatever you need for a few hours.

Bring a backpack to carry everything you need.

Ideally, bring walking poles.
